Welcome to Davinder's Page

Location: Merced, Ca, USA - Soon to change to somewhere in eastern West Virginia.

Age: Born 1989

Background / nationality: I am from Brazil, have a mother from Brazil and descendant from Germany, and a father from India. So I'm part Brazillian, part German, part Indian, and since I was raised here in the US, I'd say I'm also part American.

Languages you speak: I speak English fluently, and can hold conversations and read/write a bit in German and Portuguese.

General and special interests: I like to solve puzzles, read, study physics and math (although not at the university I'm at anymore), chat with friends, hike, mountain bike, eat fruits, and tend to a garden (although this is the first time I've ever done that! =-). I also like to wander aimlessly through a forest sometimes, just to make human technology and the crowding of so many people in a city disappear for a while. I've grown tired of city life and stress, and want to live far away from the city. I will be moving to West Virginia to make my first attempt at that this summer, and if all goes well, that's where I'll be staying, and building my own piece of land. So far I've only read the first book of the Anastasia series, but am eagerly snatching up any other time I have to read the second book, The Ringing Cedars of Russia.

Yes I am interested in finding my other half! I have only been searching for a couple of years now, but I've only read the first book about 6 months ago and figured out more about who I'm looking for.

I also realized I am becoming a Cynic. I use this term differently than it is used today. Cynics were a group of philosophers whose ideas are summed up on Wikipedia by the following:
1. The goal of life is happiness which is to live in agreement with Nature.
2. Happiness depends on being self-sufficient, and a master of mental attitude.
3. Self-sufficiency is achieved by living a life of Virtue.
4. The road to virtue is to free oneself from any influence such as wealth, fame, or power, which have no value in Nature.
5. Suffering is caused by false judgments of value, which cause negative emotions and a vicious character.
There was one Cynic by the name of Diogenes, who supposedly said that "True freedom is in the minimum of needs," and I have a feeling of agreement with this statement!
