Okay so Anastasia says in book 1 something like astrology is used by dark forces and don't buy into it.
Which really made a big impression on me when she brought that up because I had been wondering the choice versus fate question? If you do believe in astrology than you have to also consider whether or not you can change the outcome of things. Well, she says you can with your thoughts, and to think in images how you want things to happen. After reading that I didn't immediately give up on atrology though I paid more attention to the possibility that it as wrong but didn't understand then why are reports based on time of birth like on astro.com seemingly accurate. It knew who I'd fall in love with and it also correctly predicted the challenges that came up for the most part, so then why? This is something I have been thinking about since last August, before I picked up her books which wasn't till November. But the other day I did figure out what may be an answer to my question. There is science mind and living mind, a scientific approach to thing always tries catorgize things to something understandable within some kind of limit, but whenever dealing with living things it can never really be done. For instance to measure the shoreline of the sea, when a man tries to measure all the point to figure out in terms of math where the shoreline really is he can't do it cause it measure out to an infinte fractal. Another thing is the circumfrance of a circle (a perfect circle is something only made by god in nature, because all man made object though they may appear at first sight circular evenually break down into squares.) is pi as is well known and pi is a number that no computer or machine has been able to find an end to, also is ungraspable to science. The fibioncci sequence also. Anything living is uncapturable and yet the science of astrology attempts to understand man and his actions from birth till death, but that computer program that measure that doesn't know that person, it's all a formula and at any time I choose I can and have done things that change it and people do because no machine can ever understand the living. Anastasia did make other subtle references to astrology, or at least the power of the stars. She said the stars were a map of the universe that only one pure of thought could capture all its meaning that not even she fully grasps. She also said that a man and women with a will to cocreate cthat the stars would change their plans for something so grand as this. So strology is moveable when it is for a higher cause. By the way my astrology report said that when it came to love for me I would fall in love but it would be an illusion that I would have to wake up from in 2010 and so I didn't know how to react to that, cause it might be true and if that'ss the case and I'm waiting with hope what happens to me? I'm not sure about that cause certain aspects of astrology are right to an extent but I no longer care cause I am more concerned about helping others get their dreams, setting it up for our children so they can be happily mariried in their perfect domains with happy children running around, that seems far more important then my petty life. A few quick points:

Circles don't exist in nature and therefore don't exist in science (the study of the natural world), they exist in math (math is not a science). A circle is an idea and nothing more. You see things that are somewhat circular and you eventually classify them into the generalized and idealistic concept of a perfect circle. Only math, which works in terms of pure idea can describe a circle, that still doesn't mean it exists though... unless you are an idealist. (I'm somewhat of an idealist :) )

Astrology is not a science, astronomy is. I'm pretty sure that when it comes to astrology the only reason people think it is somewhat accurate is psychological. The predictions given are always vague and whereas they may seem detailed in certain areas, those details more often than not pertain to just about everyone. We also have a tendency to internalize an external significance.

Having said that, there is no reason why we shouldn't think the cosmos does not have an EFFECT on us. The moon obviously turns the tides which in turn effects the way we act in certain circumstances... when the moon is in a certain area people move inland to avoid the tide... it's not as far-fetched as it sounds. But you can always decide to stay put and drown in the sea. Now just take that to another level and you can see how stars would have a significant impact on us.

This doesn't mean they dictate the course of Men. The existence of free-will (if you accept it) completely abolishes that concept. Determinacy and free-will is another very interesting topic that lies at the foundation of ALL ACTIONS. But that's kind of off topic.

Anyway... feel free to discuss anything in particular I've said here.

I know astrology isn't labeled as a science, what I meant to say was that astrology reports are figured out by a computer, it is merely a measurement of a persons timeline in relation to the stars, but it doesn't take into account any changes. So one thing I was wondering was if stars ever did move in non predictable ways? Cause from what I heard is that the orbit an planet or star moves in is predictable. So if we are affected by the planets and stars but we also have free will than wouldn't that mean that they too would change according the direction of the will of humans? Anastasia also mentioned getting a lunar calendar or using your intuition to plant during favorable times. Another reference there, but I understand she is referring to it in a different way than with using astrology to figure out lives.

Oh and on the circle part, you're right, I said that wrong. I remember hearing that nothing is circular, more like an oval because of the rotation of the earth being in an oval tilt that everything is also influenced that way. If someone were to go into outer space where there is no gravity they could make a perfect circle if they were artistically inclined.

With free-will, you can decide in spite of a predicted path or the effect of something. The stars may be a guide but they are far from being set in stone. Just because you are predicted to do something but you do something else, that doesn't mean the prediction (or predictor, i.e. the stars) has to change. That's the beauty of free-will, it is intimately connected with creativity and Godliness. Like I said, think of it this way, imagine the moon as having an astrological effect on humans. It cyclically brings in and out the tide and if you were camping on the shore that evening, you will say "Oh shit, move the tent up we're gonna get soaked." But that doesn't meaning you can't remain unaffected. You can still say "I don't care, I'll lie here and drown... I just don't feel like moving."

Yes, lunar calenders are much more accurate and harmonious.

It may seem like I'm splitting hairs here... but even in complete vacuum if you blew a bubble the sphere would not be a perfect sphere. Why? Because a sphere has no width to its boundaries. It's dimensionless in actual space. But I see your point about inaccuracies due to an infinite amount of dynamic changes.

One of the most accurate astrologers I know of said this: the biggest skeptics become the greatest astrologers.

He decided to learn astrology just so he could prove it wrong, but couldn't.

When I was 15 I met an astrologer and he basically layed out my entire past in just an hour by looking at a piece of paper with glyphs and symbols. I was intrigued, no intuition or special gifts required, just knowledge and glyphs, so I decided to learn it.

I spent many years learning about it, and I got good enough that I could tell very precise things about the past, present and future of people I didn't even know, things that aren't as newspaper horoscopes, broad and which could relate to almost anybody. The most striking of all was seeing career opportunities open up for someone and mentioning that. The girl said she lovers her job and the only way she'd look for another is if her boss died. Only to have been informed that he did die a week later and she started to look into other venues. For the most part I had learned by reading books and studying my own life events and comparing, so to have the chance to get a real-life subject and as if blindfolded, tell them what they look like and are wearing by some other means of perception like the sound of their voice, and be so precisely accurate was probably more striking to me than the subject itself who probably expected me to assert.

Eventually I could almost formulate a person's chart in my mind judging from their appearance, body language and tendencies, noticing certain patterns in how energy manifested itself. The first thing I always wanted to know about someone to discreetly know everything about them was their birth date.

It was fun and games for some time but at some points the accuracy scared me because I couldn't explain it.

At first I thought like most people, that the planets affected us, then my views switched. Eventually I began to see the cosmos as a great organism where what happens within a tiny cell (human) also affected or reflected on the whole of the body, so to look into a microscope, or out to the stars in order to get a different angle and see what is lost in plain view seemed reasonable. Astrology always pointed at the obvious, so I bothered with it less and less over the years.

One thing however, I can say to explain how there is free will within the astrology philosophy is energy is energy. Energy will be present and we will have tendencies. What we do with the energy, how we respond, is our choice to make. The wisest astrologers use the energy they forsee coming like the seasons or weather patterns, the best time to fulfill a particular thing in their lives, so they direct the energy towards a particular purpose where it may lead favourable.

The least wise astrologers will believe in fate and stick only to what they perceive in a chart as happening, thus manifesting that.

And yet with such a strongly built and old system there is still no one who can claim to know astrology completely, because it is incomplete and relies upon conscioussness. The level of conscioussness a person has will create an entirely different horoscope.

Some people find it useful, I did for a long time, but in the later years I'd just go to it to confirm a particular energy that I felt present in my life, or to have a different explanation to it like a matching game. Now, I don't use it anymore. I decided to develop my intuition instead, feel the energies and act on my own instead of relying on the stars.

I can see where what Anastasyia says is true, which was the very reason I never became an astrologer per-se, making money off it or writing books about it. I didn't want to have any part in others making personal choices. I knew at least that I was in no position to tell anyone what to do in their lives, especially when they were so willing to believe that I was right and would loose their sense of judgement, give their power away. But I can also see where astrology has been useful for people, like being prepared for a difficult time and knowing it won't last forever, at least knowing what kind of lesson needs to be learned in order to move through.

Astrology, useful sometimes yes, detrimental often yes, necessary no.

Interesting thread! I'll throw in my two cents worth to this one as well.

I've spent a long time studying / reading / meditating on / contemplating / etc over the last two years on the life / death / rebirth cycle that happens to Man. One of these aspects is of course astrology, but not specifically as a divination tool but rather the aspect of how it influences us as a process of our own creation / reincarnation.

In some of the teachings I have read there is a great explanation for why people match their sun and moon signs so strongly... which I throw out here for the greater analysis... it certainly rings true with me.

In my understanding of greater human consciousness we have four bodies... the physical, the etheric (lifeforce), the astral (thought and emotion) and the higher self (which I refer to Ego with a capital 'e' to represent the perfect divine spark that all of us have). The physical and etheric are called the Lower Complex and the Astral and Ego the Upper Complex. Anastasia certainly refers to the Upper Complex often in her teachings (e.g. see p5 of Book 4) and from personal experience I know they exist. I have an article a wrote on this here http://www.revelationsky.org.au/Revelation-Sky-Subtle-Bodies.html.

At the moment of conception a new human soul begins its incarnation process. Initially the developing fetus is only physical and etheric, the upper complex is not there yet. After about three months the upper complex begins its decent into the body... traveling as it goes through the immediate astral environment of the earth and gathering up astral material with which to create a new astral body for the fetus.

It is said that the planets are a reflection of a greater spiritual reality and that what we see is actually an embodiment of a particular group of like-minded energies (Anastasia talks about grouped energies like this on p8 of Book 4)... thus it is common practice to see Mars as aggression / war / activity, Saturn as being melancholy, thoughtful, etc.

So... as the Upper Complex descends it passes through the astral layers represented by these planets. Depending on their relationship to each other at the moment the incarnating soul passes it gathers up different "flavours" of astral material. As the astral is where our personality resides, this in turn influences our behaviours on earth.

There is much more to this I could go on about... but what do you think?

You are right on. These astral influences, once known, explain the emotions we go through and can change the way we act or react to given situations, including the things we fabricate. What is the other individual you are interacting with being influenced by?

One of my largest influences is the cycles of the moon. The third quarter’s influence is for creating. The forth quarter is for initiating the project. The first quarter, fabricating and the second is completion. This knowing has been extremely beneficial to me in my relationships, work and most important, play time!

Do any of you feel that the cycles of our societies discourage free thinking and creativity? I used to think my totem was an ant.

Great post!
